There was one fashion phenomenon that I had never witnessed until I went to University. I had seen a lot of fashion faux pas in my time on the planet, but this was something.. different. It was not awful, it was not a complete clash of colours or prints but it was… a uniquely British thing to see. That was seeing someone in their pyjamas in the supermarket. I mean, I understood the logic of course; You have just woken up and realised that you need milk for your coffee and cereal. You don’t have any in the fridge. But you do not want to have a shower until you’ve eaten and had your morning coffee. There’s surely only one solution.

You leave your pyjamas on and go to the shop. Sure you might look a little bit weird, a little bit odd. But it all makes sense, you’re comfortable, the shop is only up the road and by the time you would have got changed you’d have made it to the shop and back anyway. So embrace it; it’s not lazy, it’s practical.
