If you were a teen in the 1960s then you will probably know a great deal about the skinhead era. It was a hugely popular subculture that originated among working class youths. It spread through the whole of England and it involved clothing such as Fred Perry t-shirts, chequered shirts, Harrington jackets sand Dr Martens.
These are all types of clothing that are coming back into the spotlight now, except for the political tattoos and shaved heads of course. The skinhead era was certainly a big one and it the fact that you can still see signs of it today is a symbol of just how significant it was.
If you want to get the modern 1960 look then a chequered shirts with a Harrington jacket, skinny jeans and Dr Martens will work a treat, while for girls chequered collar dresses and fishnet tights can provide the ultimate skinhead fashion look.
